Privacy statement

Version 2026-11-05. Stacksy Pty Ltd handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

This statement covers the Stacksy Lab: the application form, how we choose members, and Lab emails. Your Stacksy account and each Stacksy product also have their own privacy terms.

What we collect

  • When you apply: your name and email address, plus anything else you choose to give us on the form: screen name, organisation, location, industry, years in that industry, role, organisation size, confidence with technology, age bracket, access needs, preferred session times, and your answer about giving feedback.
  • How you found us: if you arrived from a link with campaign tags (for example from LinkedIn or Facebook), we record those tags with your application. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • When you sign in: your Stacksy account's identifier, name and email address.

Only your name, email address, industry, years in that industry, your feedback answer and how you have been in touch with Stacksy before are required. Everything else is optional, and every personal question has a "prefer not to say" choice or can be left blank.

Why we collect it

  • To choose a mixed group. We ask about your work, location, age, confidence with technology and access needs so the group ends up a genuine mix rather than forty people who all do the same job. We look at these answers in aggregate, as counts across the group, to see which kinds of people we have and which we are missing.
  • To run the Lab. To contact you about your application, invite you to sessions at times that suit, and make sessions work for any access needs you tell us about.
  • To set up your Stacksy account if you are accepted, so you can use the software that comes with membership.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

  • Only Stacksy staff who run the Lab can see your application, your real name and your email address.
  • Other members never see your application or the answers on it. If you are accepted, they see you by your screen name, real or made up, and the optional line you write about yourself.
  • When you send feedback you choose whether other members can see it. Shared feedback, its screenshots and the replies to it are visible to every member under your screen name. Private feedback is seen only by you and Stacksy staff.
  • Comments on feature requests and shared feedback are visible to every member under your screen name.
  • In MaskedRoom sessions you appear under a single-use persona, so your comments there cannot be linked to you.

Where it is kept

  • Applications are stored on Stacksy's servers in Amazon Web Services' Sydney region.
  • Your Stacksy account is held by Zitadel in its Australian region.
  • We send email through Twilio SendGrid, which processes email addresses and message content in the United States to deliver our emails. We send it only what an email needs.

How long we keep it

  • If you are waitlisted or not accepted, we keep your application so we can consider you for a later intake, and delete it after 2 years unless you ask us to keep it.
  • If you are accepted, we keep your application while you are a member and for 12 months after you leave, then delete the optional answers.
  • You can ask us to delete your application at any time.

Your choices

  • You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email lab@stacksy.com.au. We will reply within 30 days.
  • Deleting your application does not delete your Stacksy account. You can do that separately from your account's profile page.

Questions and complaints
